ALLEGED N3.4BN FRAUD: KANO STATE GOVT QUERIES EMIR SANUSI

The Kano State Government has given the Emir of Kano, Mallam Muhammadu Sanusi II, 48 hours to respond to the allegation of 3.4 billion naira fraud levelled against him by the State anti-corruption commission.

The commission has, after a preliminary investigation, recommended the suspension of the Emir and other Emirate officials connected to the alleged fraud pending outcome of full investigation.

A letter addressed to the Emir and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, said the response of the Emir was required to allow the State Government take "appropriate decision on the issue in earnest".
