Breaking: PDP Presidential aspirant, Turaki asks delegates to vote for Saraki

Turaki, in a video produced hereunder, said only him and Saraki possess the pedigree, competence and character to solve Nigeria’s problems. He said, should the delegates reject him, that they should however, not hesitate to vote for Saraki whom he said is his brother. According to him,

“People have been arguing that there are a lot of presidential aspirants in PDP. And people are laying ambush, thinking that this election process will create a lot of problem that they could benefit from. “And all of us are speaking to ourselves as speaking to each other “And we agree that anybody who gets the ticket among us, that others will line up behind him. “Both of us have experience. Both of us have knowledge and integrity. “Both of us have character and both of us have that competence. And when you look at our antecedents, our backgrounds, our pedigree, its impeccable.

“”So I say to Nigerians, particularly PDP delegates, for if for whatever reasons you don’t want me, take Abubakar Bukola Saraki as my brother. “I believe that between the two of us, that the problems of Nigeria will be solved decisively,” he concluded.

He said people suspected to be party delegates are approaching them in droves to exchange money.

“Since morning we have been attending to persons suspected to PDP delegates. They were coming in large number to negociate and exchange money from us. It has been a good business and I pray it will remain like this,” he said.

Nigeria doesn’t have debt problem, Acting finance minister says

The Acting Minister of Finance, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, says Nigeria does not have debt problem because the country’s debt ratio to GDP is below the three per cent threshold set by the Fiscal Reasonability Act.

She noted that the main challenge confronting the nation is revenue problem, saying that the nation lacks the revenue to pay salaries and to also meet the recurrent and capital expenditures.

She added that the national debt appears high because the country is currently facing a low revenue challenge.

Ahmed said this on Friday during a visit to the Nigeria Customs Service Headquarters in Abuja.

The minister also stressed the importance of improving revenue generation to enable Nigeria to achieve its economic objectives.

She said, “People have raised concerns about our debt profile, but we do not have a debt problem.

“Our debt ratio to GDP is still below three per cent, which is the threshold set by the Fiscal Reasonability Act.

“What we have is a revenue problem. We don’t have revenue to pay salaries and to meet the recurrent as well as the capital expenditure ".

Ahmed said the functions of the NCS in regard to revenue generation were germane to the success of the Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

According to the minister, it is for this reason that the NCS is constantly being pushed to improve revenue collections.

Ahmed said government had considered raising Value Added Tax and Excise Duty as well as including more items on the Excise Duty list.

She said however that government had decided to hold on to the idea until the economic condition in the country improved.

Saraki ‘Under Intense Pressure’ To Step Down For Atiku

“I don’t think it is likely he would accept but I know he is under intense pressure,” said the second source, who asked not to be named. “There is pressure on him; there have been meetings, and there have been talks for him to step down for Atiku. Atiku is trying to build consensus; if Saraki steps down for him, it means he has a good chance because Saraki’s delegates would definitely be passed on to him. I do not know what Saraki will decide, but I can confirm certainly that yes, he is under pressure to stand down for Atiku.”

Bukola Saraki, President of the Senate, is under “intense pressure” to withdraw his presidential ambition and support the aspiration of Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President, to secure the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2019 general election.

Report has it earlier how the camp of Aminu Tambuwal — Saraki’s main opponent for the ticket — was pushing, and had made considerable progress, for the withdrawal of Sule Lamido, former Governor of Jigawa State and former Foreign Affairs Minister; David Mark, former Senate President, Niger State Governor and Communications Minister; and Ibrahim Dankwambo, the outgoing Governor of Gombe State, from the race to support the former House of Representatives Speaker.

To counter this, Atiku has been reaching out to “other strong aspirants”, and Saharareporters has been told the number-one focus is Saraki.

“Atiku has been meeting with other contestants , such as Saraki, with the hope that they would also drop their ambitions, so that it is going to be a game of Atiku and Tambuwal at the convention ground on Saturday,” said a source close to one of the "other strong aspirants" approached by the Atiku group.

SaharaReporters attempted to find out what Saraki thought of the entreaties, and what his decision would be.

Although a source in his camp confirmed the story “for certain”, he conceded it wasn’t immediately clear what decision Saraki would eventually take.

The PDP presidential primary holds on Saturday, with Tambuwal, being the anointed of Nyesom Wike, the party's biggest financier, tipped to emerge victorious.

S. Korea Ex-President Lee Jailed For 15 Years Over Corruption

Former South Korean president Lee Myung-bak was jailed for 15 years for corruption Friday, becoming the latest of the country’s ex-leaders to be sent to prison.

The 76-year-old CEO-turned-president, who served from 2008 to 2013, was found guilty on charges including bribery and embezzlement and ordered to pay a fine of 13 billion won ($11.5 million) by the Seoul Central District Court.

The former South Korean leader was indicted in April on 16 charges that included bribery, embezzlement, and abuse of power.

The court found that Lee was the de-facto owner of DAS — a controversial auto parts company which he claimed was his brother’s — which he used to create slush funds of around 24 billion won.

Lee was also found guilty of accepting nearly six billion won from Samsung Electronics in return for a presidential pardon for its chairman Lee Kun-hee, who was jailed for tax evasion.

A Samsung spokesman declined to comment on Friday’s ruling.

“Despite objective evidence and credible testimonies, he has denied all offenses and shifted responsibilities to others by saying he was being framed,” said a judge during the trial that was broadcast live.

“Bringing everything into consideration, heavy punishment for the accused is inevitable,” she said.

Lee was not in attendance, citing ill-health and in protest against the court’s decision to televise the ruling.

Lee earlier dismissed what prosecutors say are “incriminating” documents and testimony from his relatives and aides as “fabrications”.

His lawyer called the ruling “extremely regrettable” and said the court’s finding of Lee as the de-facto owner of DAS “hard to understand”.

He told reporters that he will discuss appealing the verdict with Lee and reach a decision by Monday, according to Yonhap.

South Korean presidents have a tendency to end up in prison after their time in power – usually once their political rivals have moved into the presidential Blue House.

All four former South Korean presidents who are still alive have now been convicted of criminal offenses.

Conservative Lee’s successor Park Geun-hye was sentenced to 25 years in prison and fined millions of dollars for bribery and abuse of power.

She was ousted last year over a nationwide corruption scandal that prompted massive street protests.

Chun Doo-hwan and Roh Tae-woo, former army generals who served as president through the 1980s to early 1990s, served jail terms for corruption and treason after leaving office.

Both Chun and Roh received presidential pardons after serving about two years.

Another former leader, Roh Moo-hyun, committed suicide after becoming embroiled in a corruption probe.

BREAKING: Saraki, Dogara, Tambuwal Lead PDP Protest To INEC Secretariat

They marched to the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja on Friday, to demand that the commission declare the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Ademola Adeleke, as the winner of the election.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and Uche Secondus, National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are currently leading a protest against the result of the Osun State governorship election.

They marched to the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja on Friday, to demand that the commission declare the PDP candidate, Ademola Adeleke, as the winner of the election.

Although Adeleke was in the lead after the total votes were added as of Sunday, September 23, the election was declared inconclusive because the cancelled votes exceeded the vote difference between the two leading candidates.

IRAN launches a salvo of missiles with DEATH TO AMERICA written on the fuselage

The Islamic republic targeted US-backed militants in Syria saying it was punishing its enemy’s “wickedness”.
The obvious sabre-rattling by Tehran sparked new World War 3 fears as it launched against American interests in the beleaguered nation.

The targeted areas are also supported by regional powers in eastern Syria.

The night strike was launched at just before midnight last night (2.00am local time) and it targeted bases of the “takfiri terrorists” blamed for a recent attack on a military parade, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said in a statement on Sepah News, the official news site of the powerful military force.

The statement added: “Our iron fist is prepared to deliver a decisive and crushing response to any wickedness and mischief of the enemies.”

The word “takfiri” is often used by Iran’s official to describe Sunni Muslim hardliners, branding them as apostates. The country is predominantly Shi’ite Muslim, the other main branch of Islam.

In a shocking video footage shared by Fars News, an Iranian news agency, several missiles can be seen streaking into a dark sky.

Missiles showed “Death to the family of Saud” “Death to America,” and “Death to Israel” threats on the fuselage.

The ballistic missiles used in the attack flew 354miles (570km) to hit the targets, the Guards said, adding they fired a total of six missiles into Syria from western Iran.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the highest authority in Iran, said last week the people responsible for those deaths were paid by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), two key allies of the US in the Middle East.

Iran’s government added it would “severely punish” those behind the violence, a threat renewed last week by Iran’s president Hassan Rouhani during his speech at the UN General Assembly.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE have denied involvement in the attack.

Mr Rouhani fought a war of words against US president Donald Trump at the yearly gathering of the General Assembly.

Mr Trump, who pulled out from the Iran nuclear deal in May arguing it only made Tehran richer, said Iran sows “chaos, death and destruction”.

David Mark, Lamido, Dankwambo To Step Down For Tambuwal ‘Within 48 Hours’

“The Tambuwal camp has been able to reach out to some of the aspirants,” said a source very familiar with ongoing 59th-minute-of-the-eleventh hour meetings. “They have been able to get David Mark, Lamido, Dankwambo to step down for Tambuwal between today and at the convention ground tomorrow. For now that is the plan. They are also trying to work with Kwanwaso but he has not given them any positive response for now. They are working on Ahmed Makarfi as well.”

High-wire, last-minute political horse-trading is likely to see at least three Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirants step down for Aminu Tambuwal, Governor of Sokoto State, SaharaReporters has been told.

Tambuwal is favourite to clinch the ticket, as he has the backing of Nyesom WIke, Governor of Rivers State, who is currently the party’s biggest financier.

The Tambuwal group is said to be pushing, and has made considerable progress, for the withdrawal of Sule Lamido, former Governor of Jigawa State and former Foreign Affairs Minister; David Mark, former Senate President, Niger State Governor and Communications Minister; and  Ibrahim Dankwambo, the outgoing Governor of Gombe State, from the race to support the former House of Representatives Spesker.

“They are also trying to work with Kwanwaso but he has not given them any positive response for now. They are working on Ahmed Makarfi as well.”

However, according to the source, the proposed withdrawal of these aspirants is only part of a larger scheme to ensure Tambuwal emerges winner at all costs. The main scheme, he says, is to tamper with the delegates list.

“There is a process of selecting delegates across the states. For states where they have loyalists, and for states where they have governors who dance to the tune of Wike, they are trying to manufacture some delegates.

“You have statutory delegates, automatic delegates. Automatic delegates are the EXCO members, statutory delegates are former governors, former deputy governors and members of the House of Assembly and so on, while there are also delegates from the local governments. Now, most aspirants don’t know who is who across the states, since they’re coming from the national level.

“So what they did was that they put two, three up to 10 names that are a bit shady on the final delegates list; you cannot trace them as members of the House of Assembly, you cannot trace them as Local Government EXCO. For example, for states where they have 10 members of the House of Assembly that are members of PDP, they tried to make it 15 or 20. And it’s a total of around 700 that, if push comes to shove, they would use for Tambuwal as guaranteed delegates.

“But they are also doing that to justify the shady delegates list they’re preparing. If these guys step down, it will look to the people as though the supporters of these aspirants were the ones who voted for Tambuwal.”

When contacted, Simeon Nwakaudu, Tambuwal's spokesman, declined to react.

Federal polytechnic Nekede Owerri is the best in Nigeria - NBTE

The Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri in Imo is the best polytechnic in Nigeria, according to the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). The Executive Secretary of the Board, Dr Masa’udu Kazaure made this known in Kaduna on Thursday, at the end of the Second Regular Meeting of the NBTE Governing Board. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Modupe Adelabu. Kazaure explained that the polytechnic emerged the best after scoring 85.08 per cent in the assessment of 112 federal, state and private polytechnics in the country, in the pilot ranking of Nigerian polytechnics. He said that the exercise covered 2015/2016 and 206/2017 academic sessions.

He said that the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, Ogun came second with 73.08 per cent, while Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna State came third with 72.31 per cent. Other polytechnics in the top 10 included The Polytechnic Ibadan, Oyo State, ranked fourth with 67.69 per cent; Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger, fifth, 65.38 per cent; and Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo, sixth, with 63.85 per cent. Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra was ranked 11th with 60.00 per cent and Federal Polytechnic, Idah, Kogi, occupied the 12th position with 59.23 per cent. The NBTE boss also said that when disaggregated by ownership, the Federal Polytechnic Nekede also emerged the best Federal Polytechnic in the country followed by Federal Polytechnic Ilaro and Kaduna Polytechnic.

“The Polytechnic Ibadan, IMT and Rufus Giwa polytechnics were the highest ranked among state polytechnics, while Lagos City Polytechnic is the highest ranked private polytechnic and the 16th in the country. “Dorben Polytechnic and Heritage
Polytechnic were the second and third best private polytechnic in the country. Kazaure explained that the polytechnics were ranked based on total number of programmes with full accreditation in the last two years and percentage of programmes with full accreditation.

“Other criteria include proportion of academic staff showing the right mix, that is, chief lecturer and principal lecturer down to assistant lecturer; and ability of institution to introduce programme in new and emerging fields. “They were equally assessed based on capacity building of staff both within and outside Nigeria, teaching quality, including staff /student ratio and ratio of full-time to part-time staff.

“Other areas are availability of current Campus Master Plan, Strategic Plan, and Academic Brief; percentage of academic staff with relevant higher qualification and professional registration; and 70:30 technology-non-technology enrolment ratio.

“Another consideration was the incorporation of entrepreneurship education into the institute’s curriculum and fully established Entrepreneurship Development Centre,” he said. He said other issues discussed by the board borders on quality assurance, accreditation, resource inspection visits and proliferation of illegal technical and health institutions in the country.

He said that 191 out of the 239 programmes in 41 polytechnics visited for accreditation between June and September 2018 were granted full accreditation while 48 got interim accreditation. He also said that 117 programmes were scrutinised for resource inspection within the same period and 94 programmes were granted interim accreditation to commence operation, while 23 were denied.

“Four proposed private polytechnics were also visited for approval and licensing within the period under review and only one was recommended while three were asked to remedy some identified deficiencies.

“The governing board also approved a memorandum of understanding with Environmental Health Officers Registration Council of Nigeria to reduce the burden of duplication of quality assurance visitation and accreditation activities. “The board also agreed to hold meetings with relevant stakeholders to put an end to proliferation of illegal technical institutions and unapproved private health institutions operating in the county.

“The board particularly commended the effort of the Kaduna State Commissioner for Health, Dr Paul Dogo for expressing concern to the board on illegal health institutions operating in the state,” he said. Kazaure added that the board equally frowned at the conversion of colleges of agriculture to polytechnics by some state governments and agreed to take necessary actions to put a stop to the development. US says Palestine ‘not a state,’ withdraws from Vienna Convention’s ‘optional protocol’

The US is withdrawing from the "optional protocol" in the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, John Bolton has confirmed. He said it follows a case brought by Palestine, challenging the US embassy's move to Jerusalem.
"I am announcing that the president has decided that the United States will withdraw from the optional protocol and dispute resolution to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations," Bolton said.

"This is in connection with a case brought by the so-called state of Palestine, naming the United States as the defendant, challenging our move of our embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem

The decision will see the US opting out of having to attend the International Court of Justice in the case of disputes, as outlined in Article I of the "Optional Protocol Concerning the Compulsory Settlement of Disputes."

"Disputes arising out of the interpretation or application of the Convention shall lie within the compulsory jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice and may accordingly be brought before the Court by an application made by any party to the dispute being a Party to the present Protocol," Article I states.

The US is not the only country to deny acknowledgment of Palestine as a state. Its Western European allies also refrain from doing so, along with Australia and Canada. However, most countries in South America, Asia, and Africa do, along with the majority of Eastern Europe.

The ICJ and the US previously butted heads in July, when Iran filed a complaint against Washington with the court. That complaint accused Washington of breaching the Treaty of Amity, Economic Relations, and Consular Rights by pulling out of the Iran nuclear deal.

Earlier on Wednesday, the court ordered the US to lift sanctions on Iran which are linked to humanitarian goods and civil aviation. The US responded by pulling out of the Treaty of Amity and from the protocol involving the ICJ.

Tribunal restrains INEC from tampering with Osun gov poll results

Femi Makinde, Osogbo

The Election Petition Tribunal constituted to hear the petitions arising from the Osun State governorship election has granted an ex parte order to Senator Ademola Adeleke, restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission from altering election results as well as information contained in the card reader machines and other documents used for the poll.

The tribunal, headed by Justice T.A. Igoche, which also has Justice P. A. Obayi as member, granted this order in Osogbo on Thursday during its sitting before the commencement of pre-hearing session.

Adeleke, who was the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party had, through his counsel, Mr. Nathaniel Oke (SAN), filed an ex parte application seeking leave of the tribunal to file the application before the pre-hearing session.

The applicant also sought leave of the tribunal to inspect and obtain certified true copies of electoral documents and materials in the custody of INEC; an order to conduct physical inspection and verification of electoral materials and machines, as well as used and unused ballots, among others.

Adeleke also applied for an order to compel the INEC to produce and print out list of permanent voter card distribution statistics per polling units and an order restraining INEC from altering extracted information from card readers, election results from polling unit level to state level, as well as ballot papers used for the conduct of the governorship election in Osun State.

Adeleke predicated his application on the grounds that he was the candidate that contested the election held on September 22, 2018 and the re-run election held on September 27, 2018 on the platform of PDP.

Other grounds of the application are: ” That the total votes won by the 1st applicant on the 22nd day of September, 2018 was 245,698 while the 1st respondent scored 245,345.

“That the 1st applicant was the winner of the election and ought to have been so declared by the 3rd respondent ( INEC). That the 3rd respondent declared the election inconclusive hence a rerun was conducted on the 27th day of September 2018.

” That the rerun election was marred by electoral violence, vote-buying, stuffing of ballot papers, multiple thumb-printing and voting and allocation of votes by the 3rd respondent. That by the total actual and valid votes cast on the 22nd and 27th days of September 2018 respectively, the elections were won by the applicants.

“That an examination of the electoral documents and election materials in the custody of the 3rd respondent is required to determine the actual facts and records of the elections to maintain this petition.

“That the 3rd respondent wrongfully declared and returned the 1st respondent as being duly elected and winner of the governorship election, Osun State held on 22nd day of September 2018 and the rerun election held on 27th day of September 2018 respectively.

The 1st and 2nd applicants are dissatisfied with the said result of the election as announced by the returning officer of the governorship election, Osun State. That instant allocation is required for the purpose of instituting and maintaining the petition.”

The panel, having listening to the application moved by Adeleke’s counsel held in their ruling that the allocation had merit and granted the all,I cation as prayed.

Igoche, who read the ruling said, “We are of the view that the application has merit.mwe ahead by grant the application as prayed.”

Addressing the fear raised by the applicant that INEC might not respect the tribunal’s order except they were armed with a certified true copy of the order, Igoche said there was nothing stopping the panel from issuing the order to the applicant on the same day.

There was heavy presence of armed policemen and operatives of the Department of State Service on the court presides and outside the court as security operatives were deployed to prevent destruction of the proceedings at the tribunal.

Those going into the court premises were frisked by policemen from the police anti-bomb unit while vehicles were also thoroughly searched to prevent hoodlums from smuggling weapons into the place.

Israel has a submarine that is fourteen times more powerful than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima

Whatever the missile, a 932-mile range gives it the ability—just barely—to strike the Iranian capital of Tehran, as well as the holy city of Qom and the northern city of Tabriz, from a position off the coast of Syria. Whatever the missile, a 932-mile range gives it the ability—just barely—to strike the Iranian capital of Tehran, as well as the holy city of Qom and the northern city of Tabriz, from a position off the coast of Syria. (Iran’s pursuit of nuclear arms is likely the main and enduring driver of Israel’s second strike capability.) That isn’t an ideal firing position, and it’s been seventeen years since the missile’s first flight, so it’s also reasonable to assume that the weapon’s range has been extended to the point where it can launch against Tehran and even more Iranian cities from a relatively safe location.

Israel’s submarine corps is a tiny force with a big open secret: in all likelihood, it is armed with nuclear weapons. The five Dolphin-class submarines represent an ace in the hole for Israel, the ultimate guarantor of the country’s security, ensuring that if attacked with nukes, the tiny nation can strike back in kind.

Israel’s first nuclear weapons were completed by the early 1970s, and deployed among both free-fall aircraft bombs and Jericho ballistic missiles. The 1991 Persian Gulf War, which saw Iraqi Scuds and Al Hussein ballistic missiles raining down on Israeli cities, led Tel Aviv to conclude that the country needed a true nuclear triad of air-, land and sea based nukes to give the country’s nuclear deterrent maximum flexibility and survivability.

RBP

The most survivable arm of the nuclear triad is typically the sea based one, consisting of nuclear armed submarines. Submarines can disappear for weeks or even months, taking up a highly classified patrol route while waiting for orders to launch their missiles. This so-called “second strike capability” is built on the principle of nuclear deterrence and ensures potential enemies will think twice before attacking, knowing Israel’s submarines will be available to carry out revenge attacks.

The first three submarines were authorized before the Gulf War, in 1988, though it is not clear they were built with nuclear weapons in mind. After years of delays construction began in Germany instead of the United States as originally planned, with German combat systems instead of American ones. Most importantly, the project went ahead with German financing; Berlin reportedly felt obliged to finance two of the submarines, and split the third as lax German nonproliferation enforcement had partly enabled Iraq’s nuclear and chemical weapons program.

The first three submarines, Dolphin, Leviathan and Tekuma, were laid down in the early 1990s, but only entered service between 1999 and 2000. The submarines are 187 feet long, displace 1,720 tons submerged and have an operating depth of 1,148 feet. Sensors include the STN Atlas Elektronik CSU-90-1 sonar suite with the DBSQS-21D active and AN 5039A1 passive sonar systems. The Dolphin class also has PRS-3-15 passive ranging sonar and FAS-3-1 passive flank arrays.

Each has ten torpedo tubes in the bow, six standard 533-millimeter standard diameter tubes and four larger 650-millimeter torpedoes. The larger torpedo tubes are more than two feet wide, and reportedly double as ingress/egress chambers for divers. Armament is a mixture of German, American and Israeli weapons, including Seahake heavyweight wire guided torpedoes and Harpoon antiship missiles. The authoritative Combat Fleets of the World claims the Dolphin subs may have the Triton fiber optic guided weapon system. With a range of more than nine miles, Triton allows submarines the ability to attack helicopters, surface ships and coastal targets.

The four large torpedo tubes are the key to Israel’s sea-based deterrent, and without them it’s unlikely the country would have nukes on submarines. The large tubes are used not only for laying mines and sending and receiving divers, but also to launch nuclear cruise missiles. In 2000, the U.S. Navy observed a missile launch from off the coast of Sri Lanka that traveled an estimated 932 miles. Exactly what this missile was is a matter of speculation, but the leading candidate is some advanced form of the Popeye missile.

Popeye was originally an air-launched ground attack missile. Developed in the late 1980s, Popeye originally used a television camera or infrared seeker to deliver a 750-pound warhead to ranges of up to forty-five miles. The United States Air Force bought 154 Popeye missiles to arm B-52 bombers for conventional attacks, renaming them the AGM-142 Raptor. Israel’s nuclear deterrent is thought to be based on cruise missile version of Popeye, Popeye Turbo, which has a turbofan engine for long-distance flight.

There is also the possibility the nuclear armament is based on the Gabriel antiship missile, and there are also reports that Harpoon missiles were modified to carry nuclear weapons. Nobody appears to know for sure what missile is operational, only that it was observed and that arming them with nuclear weapons is a logical conclusion. The yield of the nuclear warhead on these missiles is unknown, but estimates float around the two-hundred-kiloton mark, which would make them roughly fourteen times more powerful than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima.

No election in Biafra come 2019~ IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) said come 2019, all elections would be boycotted until all those with their warped sense of national unity see and agree to a referendum on self determination.

The group however called on the good people of Middle Belt- the Fulani enslaved majority of northern Nigeria and progressive elements in Yorubaland, to join IPOB in locking down 70 per cent of Nigeria landmass during upcoming 2019 general elections.

The media and publicity secretary of IPOB, Emma Powerful, in a statement said IPOB would ensure that no election is conducted in the South East and South South by next year.

Powerful said: “Nigeria is not united and can never be under the present ‘militaristic unitary arrangement’. Nigeria as a British experiment at nation creation is a complete and total disaster, a failed project of disastrous proportions. It appears the only thing holding Nigeria together is the corrupt tendencies of the badly educated ruling class, determined to hold everybody down as they advance their cabaslistic group interest at the expense of the well-being of the masses”.

“Voting and electioneering is the only national project they are all bothered about because that remains the only way they can publicly legitimize their criminally corrupt political enterprise. 2019 elections is their sole motivator and rigging remains their one true route into office and endless looting”.

“The only way to enthrone lasting positive change based on liberty, freedom and rule of law is for every right person, both home and abroad, to not only boycott elections but to prevail on their relatives to do the same. It is becoming more obvious as days go by that elections in Nigeria under current constitutional arrangement, is nothing but a sophisticated way for political criminals to ride on the notion of popular mandate, through a flawed system of rigging, to gain unfettered access to public funds”.

“They have no idea as to what democracy, rule of law or governance in public interest is all about. What we have is a political class and electoral machinery designed to promote and enthrone criminality at the highest levels of government”.

“Ordinary people will continue to suffer and die in poverty and misery until power is returned to ordinary masses through election boycott and subsequent popular uprising”

“If we vote in 2019, we would be renewing their mandate to ruin Nigeria the more for another four years. The fake elections held in Ekiti and Osun States recently states shows clearly and beyond every reasonable doubt that voting in Nigeria is useless and counterproductive”.

“An open day robbery by APC Party through the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headed by Buhari’s nephew in Ekiti and Osun was a perfected coup against humanity and especially the Yoruba nation. Therefore the masses must reason for once and stop every move by desperate politicians to force them to vote next year. The day everybody joins IPOB in election boycott, things will never be the same again, it will improve for the betterment of all”.

“It is important every Nigerian understand that your PVC is no more useful than a piece of rope around your neck. Only a boycott of elections in 2019 can save lives. Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) cannot guarantee your vote because they are a Fulani caliphate institution. They are headed by Fulani, they are compromised, they will always rig to favor the core north; the only solution is total boycott. That is the only way to bring the electoral madness and cycle of misery to an end” Powerful stated.

Divide Nigeria now ~ Yoruba youth council

The youth arm of the Pan-Yoruba social-political group, Afeniferere, Yoruba Youths Council, YYC, Ondo State chapter has called for the disintegration of Nigeria.

In her statement, the group stressed that most Nigerian youths no longer believed in the Nigeria project.

In the statement signed by the Chairman of the group, Pastor Benson Akinwunmi to commemorate the nation’s 2018 Independence Day celebration, the group stated that the dwindling patriotism among most youths in the country left the continuous existence of the nation as one entity to question.

Akinwunmi also alleged that the current quagmire which the country was witnessing was largely due to the crop of leaders that had continued to handle her affairs.

He said “the Nigerian project is a failed one, it’s been bad but now it is worse and we don’t believe in the actualisation anymore.

“Many nations of the world are faced with different challenges which confronts them daily, ranging from natural disaster, declines in economy development, disease epidemic and many more in which we see them thriving, surviving and gradually coming out of such problem until they are totally free.

" You  see a nation being divided along ethnics and religious line; a nation where a particular tribe is the colonists and some are the colonized; where the system of government is based on deception and corruption; where the personal or selfish interest of some few individuals supersede the interest of the poor masses who are the majority; where the lives of a cow is worth more than hundreds of human lives; where innocent children are burned and massacre in cold blood and nobody is being apprehended for it; where there’s no respect for the rule of law; where democracy is no longer a government of the people by the people and for the people, but people of the government, by the government and for the government; where the voice and votes of the people no longer counts; where the economy is deteriorating by hour; where the health and education system is designed to only favour the rich while the poor are being marginalised, deprived and gradually being fizzled out.

“What more can we say about this nation? We thought the colonial masters were not doing us any good but now many of our youths are now the one running to them willingly as sex slaves and whores.

“Our mental faculty is being made weak and weaker everyday through poverty, hardships and anxiety, and that’s why you see in an election where lives and properties were lost and yet the people who are being cheated said its free and fair because they were able to lay hold on some thousands of naira which they hope would cater for there immediate problems.

“We have believed so much in our leaders and they have failed us woefully, we have come to the realization that none of them has the interest of the majority whom they represent at heart.

“This is the state of our nation as at this first day of October 2018.

“We can no longer continue with this crop of leadership which lacks vision for the youths and the country at large.”

The group which vow to tow the path of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in advocating for the division of the country, called on the international community to help facilitate the process.

“We thereby call on the international communities to come to our rescue as we join our IPOB counterpart in echoing the demands of our fathers to question the continuous existence of Nigeria as one nation.

“We demand the division of Nigeria and hence the secession of interested ethnic group or part of the country.

“We have been pushed beyond walls and hence revolt is inevitable when the time shall come.

“We join our regrets with all other youths and especially the Yoruba youths across the nations of the earth as we mark Nigeria’s 58th independent but dependent anniversary,” he concluded.

Mock: Presidency invites Davido to perform at Osun State Governor-elect’s party

By ADETUTU ADESOJI

In the wake of the Osun State re-run election that saw the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Mr Gboyega Oyetola emerge winner, the presidential media team has invited sensational singer, Davido to perform at the thanksgiving party of the new governor-elect.

Davido who was in active support of his uncle and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Senator Adeleke had expressed his displeasure with the cancellation of the initial polls that took place last weekend with claims that APC planned to rig the governorship election hence the re-run.

The APC group however rubbished OBO’s claim calling him an ‘uninformed political novice’ who is inexperienced to dabble into political issues.

Meanwhile, Mr Johannes Tobi, a member of President Buhari’s media team has extended an invitation to the ‘Assurance’ singer via twitter, asking for his willingness to perform at the forthcoming thanksgiving party of the governor-elect. “Would you be willing to perform for the people of Osun at Oyetola’s thanksgiving party?” he wrote to Davido via the social media app.
Whether or not the DMW boss will honor the presidency’s invitation remains unknown.
