The Indigenous People Of Biafra led by Citizen Nnamdi Kanu, records another victory, as all 51 Jewish adherents illicitly detained at Afara Prisons Umuahia regains freedom.
Recall that, on the 12th Of December 2018 51 Jewish adherents were arrested, following a declared 50Million Jewish religious March, on the streets of Umuahia Abia State. They were arraigned before the Abia State Magistrate Court 2, charged for Terrorism and other ungrounded charges.
Appearing before the Abia State Magistrate Court 2 were IPOB Legal Counsels Barrister Anthony Nwafor and Augustine Ezeokeke from the Chambers of Ifeanyi Ejiofor, who countered the frivolous charges, but the presiding Magistrate denied the jurisdiction to grant Bail, upon which a remand order was given and the defendants(41 Male and 10 Females), remanded in Afara Prisons Umuahia.
The Bail Applications was filed by Ifeanyi Ejiofor Chambers with the aid of Barrister Alloy Ejimakor IPOB Special Counsel, to facilitate the legal release of the detained Jewish adherents.
The hearing was made on the 24th Of December, but adjourned for the service of hearing notice.
At exactly 8:30am on the 3rd Of January 2018, the Umuahia State High Court 1 presided by Justice Onuoha A.K Ogwe(CJ) kicked off and the Bail application, filed before the Court was moved by
IPOB lead counsel Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor appearing with him was Barrister Anthony Nwafor for the Jewish adherents.
Appearing for the State was Barrister Enyinaya Okezie the Solicitor General Of Abia State.
After the introduction of the Counsels to the applicants and State, the Judge rules;
The applicants are admitted to Bail in the following terms;
(1)In the sum of Two Million Naira with one Surety in like sum
(2)Surety to produce his passport photograph and that of Applicant
(3)The Surety shall produce Tax Receipts for 3years relevant to this order
(4)Surety to depose to an Affidavit of means and facts
The Jewish adherents marched down to the residence of IPOB Leader in praise, appreciated the immense effort of IPOB and vowed never to capitulate in the struggle.
