Man Discovers His Penis Turning To BONE When Doctors X-ray His Hips After A Fall

A man who went into hospital for knee X-ray got the shock of his life when doctors discovered his penis was turning to bone.

The 63-year-old had taken himself to A&E after he fell over in the street and landed on his behind.

Despite not hitting his head and being able to get up and keep walking without any help, he was worried that his knee had started hurting.

While he was being checked over, doctors X-rayed his pelvis to check there were no broken bones but found something stranger than they'd bargained for.

They told the man that bone cells were forming inside his penis, at which point he got up and left the hospital, ignoring the advice of doctors and never going back. 

The unidentified man, who walked with a cane, was seen by medics at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in the Bronx area of New York City.

He said that, when he fell over, he fell onto his buttocks and didn't hit his head or pass out.

And when in the emergency room, besides pain in his knee, he also had some pain in his penis but no other symptoms suggesting an STI, such as discharge or swelling.

Doctors decided to do an X-ray to check he hadn't broken any bones in the fall but found 'an extensive, plaque-like calcification along the expected distribution of the penis'.

They diagnosed him with an ossification – essentially a body part slowly turning into bone.

Apparently unhappy with the diagnosis, the man left the hospital and didn't return for treatment or any investigations to get to the root of the problem.

In a case report the doctors, led by Georges El Hasbani from the American University of Beirut, said the condition is 'exceedingly rare'.

'Penile ossification remains a relatively rare condition being mentioned in very few journals, with less than 40 published case reports,' they wrote.

They said ossification in the penis is normally a consequence of Peyronie's disease, which causes the sex organ to bend sharply in one direction.

And tissue may turn to bone when calcium salts build up in a specific area over time as a result of conditions such as cancer, thyroid problems or kidney disease.

The team added: 'We couldn't assess the [causes] since our patient decided to leave against medical advice'.

They said treatment could involve using painkillers, 'stretching' or vacuum devices, shockwave therapy or surgery.

C. Ronaldo Sells His Mansion To Pepe

Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, has taken a £1.25million loss selling his mansion in Portugal to teammate, Pepe.

Hidden away by vast woodland and situated in Geres, the mansion, which includes a landing pad for a helicopter, was purchased for close to £3.5m seven years ago.

It boasts an area of around 800 square meters and includes a stunning view of the picturesque Cavado River.

Acording to Corriero da Manha, the deal between Ronaldo and Pepe was said to have been agreed while the national team was playing at the inaugural UEFA Nations League title.

Pepe, who played alongside Ronaldo at Real Madrid, is now back in his home country with Porto, after leaving Turkish side Besiktas.

Ihedioha And The Burden Of History ~ Ike C. Ibe

While I was campaigning to be governor of Imo state across the 305 wards, one recurring statement I made was that ‘any governor who takes over from Rochas Okorocha will go through hell and must find a way to create a new economy and finds fresh resources to rebuild Imo state’. It is no longer news that 2011 to 2019 witnessed the saddest chapter in Imo economy. We have all dwelt enough on that. The current debate is focused on Governor Emeka Ihedioha coming out of the hell created in the last 8 years and finding ways to create a new IMO Economy. To do this, the governor must not just think outside the box, but go as far away from the box as possible to be able to think well and recreate our economy.

IMO was turned into a cesspool of corruption and needs practical and professional actions and activities to develop new pathways to prosperity. In the first 70 days or so of Ihedioha administration, objectively speaking, I think he has taken several steps to start charting the desired course. The average citizen may not be immediately applauding because they have not seen usual ‘new roads’ or spontaneous projects springing up in their communities, but which responsible governor will invest heavily on roads during the rains? The best thing is palliative patch work till the rains are over. These are currently going on while major roads crying for major construction or reconstruction are being identified. I have heard recent government announcements of several of these roads waiting to kick off post rains.

To it’s credit, Ihedioha has empaneled many committees charged with different functions and tasks directly related to reviving the economy. Some have called Ihedioha a Committee Governor in criticism. They say he’s acting as if he is still doing legislative work. But I think those criticisms are ill conceived because the man adopted a most efficient way of engaging competent usually expensive professionals for targeted short-term  immediate assignments at little or no cost to the government. This modus I believe, was adopted because the new government inherited a state that is terribly disorganized with totally collapsed infrastructure and projects. Many of these committees have impressively turned in their reports within allotted time and these reports form the fulcrum of the efforts to make policies that will begin the economic recreation process of IMO state. For Ihedioha to prune the unwieldy and unviable 31 ministries into 18 trim and carefully realigned ministries shows a shrewd and genuine effort at policy engineering. Recently, Commissioners were appointed to run these ministries. The balancing act of party political patronage with the need for competent hands was effectively achieved.

IMO probably has set a high standard in putting many square pegs in square holes. Professor Viola Onwuliri who once recently worked as Education Minister, Foreign Affairs Minister etc is heading Imo state ministry of education. While some were shocked at her decision to be a commissioner after being a minister, Onwuliri at her level doesn’t seem to have the hunger of stomach but the hunger to render radical services for the redemption of IMO her dear state at this critical time. I imagine that there is hardly any local and international agency that will not open doors for her in the quest to find fresh resources for IMO. Professor Joseph Uwaleke, the finance commissioner, was head of department of banking and finance at Nassarawa state university, a chief economist at Security and Exchange Commission, an examiner of senior bankers among other local and international theoretical and practical experiences. He brings credibility and professionalism into Imo finances. Reginald Ihebuzor the Budget and Planning Commissioner is an accomplished senior banker, fiscal consultant and budget specialist whose leverage and experience will no doubt be key to producing balanced and financed but frugal budgeting and planning. Ben Ekwueme of the Works ministry is an accomplishment chartered engineer who has successfully plied his trade both in Nigeria and United States and should be able to deliver sustainable and enduring public works projects especially roads unlike what happened in the last eight years. Dr. Vincent Udokwu for health, Chuma Nnaji in public utilities, ICT guru Mekam Mgbemelu in science and technology and several other professionals and competent technocrats including a thoroughbred Senior Advocate of Nigeria Mr. Ugochukwu Nnawuchi as the Attorney General all bring renewed zeal and great expectations to Ihedioha cabinet. This team with earlier appointed Special Advisers and Assistants have their work cut out for them.

One thing is clear. These men and women have the discipline and reputation not to be sycophants. They can look the Governor in the eye and tell him when he is wrong. Most especially I think most of them have to trainings and competences to design programs and services that will recreate and rebuild IMO state.

The government however, must also keep an eagle eye over what goes on in the 27 local governments areas. They have direct access to joint minimum average of 2.7 billion naira every month. If these monies are committed into strategic development projects across the LGs then there will be reduced pressure on the state with development spreading everywhere. The Governor must have the political lever to stop usual little Hitlers from overrunning the commonwealth of the local governments.

While not being a fan of the traditional 100 days in office rituals, I see that the government has already kickstarted great ideas and programs. It has effectively re-engaged international development partner’s fulfilling obligations that will significantly lift IMO economy, assembled competent working teams, engaged pro bono and passionately committed professionals etc. Though it’s still a long way and just at the beginning, IMO people are reputed to be impatient with their leaders. They also keep stones and flowers in the homes waiting for tenures to end before deciding which one to give to their leaders. I urge Ihedioha not to have anything to do with bootlickers. If he continues on the trajectory of the first 70 days I believe he will get flowers from IMO people at the end of his tenure. Until then, he has a huge burden of history. For the sake of Imo people, he has our support and prayers.

Murder Of Enugu Priest: Arrest, Disarm Miyetti Allah Now Or Else... ~ Nnia Nwodo fumes

•Says self-defense, a legitimate instrument of law

ENUGU— President-General of apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief John Nnia Nwodo has asked the Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government to immediately arrest and disarm Fulani herdsmen in the South East region or face retaliatory measures.

Nwodo who was visibly outraged over the brutal murder of Enugu Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Paul Offu who was shot dead Thursday evening by suspected Fulani herdsmen along Ihe-Agbudu road in Awgu Local Government Area by suspected Fulani herdsmen said Ndigbo will no longer tolerate such heinous act again.

Speaking to Journalist101 correspondent at the end of the monthly Igbo interactive programme ‘Nkata Umu Ibe’ held at Enugu Sports Club, the Igbo leader who roared against the proposal of Ruga settlement policy insisted that government cannot dictate to the indigenes of the land what they will do on their lands.

According to Nwodo, “We’re all very angry and flustered, this is not the first time. Militant Fulani herdsmen went to a church in session in Benue state and attacked the church, killed two priests there and all the members of the choir. They took over their uniforms, wore them and danced hilariously in jubilation of their dastardly act. They were photographed and the video went viral in Nigeria.

“The faces of the herdsmen in the video were not hidden but not one person was arrested. This is about the third priest murdered in Enugu state. I knew about three that has been kidnapped and released after payment of ransom.

“I’ve said it today that if the FG does not arrest Miyetti Allah people, disarm them and stop them from the licentiousness they have encouraged them to enjoy, we’ll begin to retaliate because self-defense is a legal and legitimate instrument of law. We’ll never accept this again.”

Earlier in the programme, the Ohanaeze President has rejected moves by the Federal government to set up Ruga settlements in parts of the country, saying it was against the people’s wish.

“We’re called a federation but what we practice in practical terms is unitary system of government where a president will be in Abuja and tell us we must give up our land for some foreigners that have so many similarities with him without minding how the owners of the land will feel. That will be over our dead bodies,” he hollered.

The murdered Rev. Fr. Offu hailed from Okpatu in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu state and until his death, was the parish priest of St. James the Greater Parish, Ugbawka.

Return To The North, Your Security Is Not Guaranteed By The Southerner ~ Northern Elders, CNG's To Fulani Herdsmen

ABUJA ~Nigeria’s deteriorating security situation took a turn for the worse Tuesday night in Abuja with the Northern Elders Forum NEF and the Coalition of the Northern Groups CNGs ordering Fulani herdsmen to leave the Southern parts of the country and return to the north where their safety and those of their cows are guaranteed.

While the northern bodies expressed lamentation on what they described as war threats by Southern leaders against the Fulani herders, they said the safety of the herdsmen is very important.

Addressing a news conference late Tuesday after a meeting of the NEF with the CNGs in Abuja, where the youths demanded the relocation of all the Fulanis back to the north, the NEF’s Chairman, Prof Ango Abdullahi said the elders are in support of the position of the youths saying it was borne out of the realization that the lives of Fulani herders have been put at risk due to the actions and utterances of Southern Governors in recent days.

“We are worried about their wellbeing. If it is true that their safety can no longer be guaranteed, we rather have them back in areas where their safety is guaranteed. The bottom line is that their safety is far more important than their stay there. This is a country we all wish to keep together but not at the expense of other section”, he declared.

NEF also advocated the establishment of a judicial enquiry to determine the quantum of loss of properties by herdsmen and farmers and compensation paid to the warring parties.

CNG’s spokesperson, Abdul-Aziz Sulaiman who presented the position of the Northern youths to the elders stated that the southern governors had on July 9 jointly agreed to stop the unhindered movement of herders and cattle in all the southern states.

He also said that “the governors even arrogated to themselves powers to decide which category of herdsmen can be allowed to live in the South and others whom they tagged as criminal elements.

He further stated that the situation was worsened after a section of the southern leadership had introduced a fresh round of instigations by indiscriminately blaming the death of the daughter of the Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti on the Fulani and threatening reprisals on northerners contrary to on the spot account of her own driver and the official explanation by the police that the culprits were yet to be identified.

He noted: “Throwing caution to the wind, Gani Adams, Fani Kayode, Yinka Odumakin and a host of other southern regionalists shamelessly insisted on changing the narratives around killing of the Fasoranti lady. In the process, they threatened all forms of violations and breaches against northerners including the threat of an all-out war.

“With all these statements and steps taken by the southern governors and opinion leaders, we are worried that none of the northern governors or federal official has deemed it apt to caution them.

“The failure or neglect of the police to trace a connection between the Fasoranti murder and the seeming prearranged conduct of Fani Kayode, Odumakin and Adams by their haste to shift the blame in order to render the Fulani object of attack is certainly suspicious.

“We are concerned about the sincerity of the federal government in implementing the NLTP going by the manner previous efforts at executing development projects like the Mambilla hydro-electric power project and several initiatives on the herdsmen dilemma were invariably stalled.

“We are equally worried that the NLTP is vested in the office of the vice president that is believed to have frustrated previous projects meant for the north.

“We find it difficult to trust the commitments of this government which has for the past four years failed to execute any positive initiative towards resolving the herders problems nor shown any encouraging concern for the dilemma of the Fulani who have been attacked in various states.

“Based on the above observations sir, and the fact that the instigation of hatred against the Fulani persists, we feel obliged to advise the leadership of the Northern Elders Forum to consider calling on the Fulani to forego their right to live and flourish anywhere in the south and relocate to their various states in the north to ensure their safety noting the inherent return value of such denial”, the CNGs submitted.

Vanguard recalls that the Coalition of the Northern Groups had given the federal government 30 days ultimatum to implement the Ruga policy for herdsmen settlement.

Israeli F-35 Stealth Fighters Flew Over Iran In Stern Message To The Islamic Republic

Two Israeli F-35 fighter jets entered Iranian airspace over the past month, Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida reported on Thursday. The act is a signal of heightened regional tensions, especially in light of recent Israeli military attacks in Syria, including against Iranian bases in the country.

Sources quoted in Al-Jarida stated that two stealth fighters flew over Syrian and Iraqi airspace to reach Iran, and even targeted locations in the Iranian cities Bandar Abbas, Esfahan and Shiraz.

The report states that the two fighter jets, among the most advanced in the world, circled at high altitude above Persian Gulf sites suspected of being associated with the Iranian nuclear program.

It also states that the two jets went undetected by radar, including by the Russian radar system located in Syria. The source refused to confirm if the operation was undertaken in coordination with the US army, which has recently conducted joint exercises with the IDF.

Our source added that the seven F-35 fighters in active service in the IAF have conducted a number of missions in Syria and on the Lebanese-Syrian border. He underlined that the fighter jets can travel from Israel to Iran twice without refueling.

Israel has admitted to launching about 100 air strikes on Syria over the past five years, targeting Hezbollah terrorists, weapons convoys and infrastructure, and it is believed to be behind dozens more.

On March 21, the IDF cleared for publication that Israel was behind the 2007 destruction of a nuclear reactor that was under construction in northern Syria.

It will be recalled that in February, Israeli F-16 fighter jets entered Syrian airspace, striking 12 Iranian targets in Syria in response to an Iranian drone that was shot down over Israel. Two Israeli crew members were wounded when they ejected from their jet before it crashed, which was later determined to be caused by pilot error.

In response to the Iranian drone, a senior Israeli official warned that Israel will react with force to Iran’s efforts to entrench itself further in Syria.

“the Iranians are determined to continue to establish themselves in Syria, and the next incident is only a matter of time,” he said, warning that Israel does not rule out that that the Islamic Republic will continue to try to attack Israel.

Rochas Calls For Ministry Of Happiness To Check Suicide In Nigeria

Rochas Okorocha, senator representing Imo west, says a happiness ministry should be created to tackle suicide and rape cases.

Okorocha said this on Tuesday while contributing to a debate on a motion sponsored by Theodore Orji, senator representing Abia central.

Orji’s motion was on the “rising incidence of suicides amongst Nigerians".

Okorocha, an immediate past governor of Imo state, argued that a lot of people take their own lives because they lack the ability to express themselves or to share their feelings with anyone.

“Mr senate president, may I suggest that whether it’s the issue of rape, suicide, let us create a department to address these issues,” he said.

“Ministry of health is not up to that, Police is not equipped for that, ministry of information is not equipped for that, we must have a department where people can go and express themselves – that ministry must be a ministry or department of happiness.

“All our prayers appear to me as though we are embarking on academic exercise that might not reflect any practical reality.

“A step should be further taken to find out why these people are not happy to the extent that they will take their life".

While moving the motion earlier, the former Abia governor said suicide could be prevented “when family, friends and close relatives of the person contemplating suicide provide support".

“Many people commit suicide out of ignorance and situations that could be addressed; and the people in the position to help, encourage or assist ignore to do so thereby leaving them to commit suicide at will,” he said.

The senate urged religious organisations in the country to preach love, peace and how to relieve stress.

It also urged the federal government to ban the production, importation or circulation of snipers insecticide —  substance often used to commit suicide.
