Gogo is the first lady’s term of endearment used by her staff and close friends.

She continues to ask questions. “Is that why they should lock my room?

“Tell me this is the Villa, we have over 200 soldiers guarding us, 200 policemen guarding us, why do they have to lock this door?”

“What for? What for? Enough is enough! Enough is enough!”

Kidnap Victim Knocks Down Abductor, Frees Many Captives Along Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Road

A gallant motorist, Usamn Yusuf-Abubakar, reportedly engaged his abductor in fisticuffs, setting dozens of other captives free along Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road.

Narrating the incident, one of the freed victims, name withheld, said Mr Yusuf-Abubakar fought the kidnapper to a pulp and disarmed him using a stone.

According to the victim, Mr Yusuf-Abubakar, after freeing the victims from the kidnappers, took away their gun and moved out of the forest.

The victim narrated: “We were blocked, robbed and kidnapped along Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road.

“We were led into the forest by one kidnapper holding AK47 riffle while others stayed back to cart away our properties.

“In my car alone, the kidnappers took over N400,000, laptop, handsets, etc.

“On our way into the forest, Usman attacked the kidnapper, disarmed him and set us free.

“He left the kidnapper down after he had beaten and injured him seriously with stone.

“He is later reported dead when negotiations were on to release a Pastor in their hand.

“They demanded that Usman should be handed over to them.

“Usman took away the kidnapper’s gun and moved out of the forest.

“But on his way out, he dropped the gun somewhere in the forest for fear or been presumed kidnapper by the police or anybody.

“He met a police patrol vehicle immediately after coming out of the forest.

“He was taken to Kaduna and debriefed. He later led the police team to recover the gun he dropped, but I was nowhere to be found.

“In his bravery, Usman freed himself and many others. Sometimes, we need to display a little courage to set ourselves free from captivity since nobody would go to save anyone once taken.

“Some of these bandits and kidnappers are weak and malnourished. Their only power is the gun they are holding. May Allah continue to protect us. Amin,” the victim said.

BREAKING: Genevieve Nnaji’s ‘Lionheart’ Is Nigeria’s Submission For 2020 Oscars

The Nigerian Oscars Selection Committee (NOSC) has picked Genevieve Nnaji’s ‘Lionheart’ as the country’s submission to the International Feature Film category of the 2020 Oscars.

The group announced the selection on Wednesday, following a statutory vetting and subsequent voting of entries received from Nigerian filmmakers at home and in the diaspora.

Produced by Chinny Onwugbenu, Chichi Nwoko, Genevieve Nnaji, and directed by Genevieve Nnaji, ‘Lionheart’ premiered at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), and was acquired on September 7, 2018, as first Netflix original film produced in Nigeria.

The film stars Pete Edochie, Genevieve Nnaji, Nkem Owoh, Onyeka Onwenu, Kanayo .O. Kanayo, Chika Okpala, Kalu Ikeagwu, Sanni Mu’azu, Yakubu Mohammed, Ngozi Ezeonu, Peter Okoye (P-Square) and Chibuzor Azubuike (Phyno).

Released worldwide on January 4, 2019 after a December 2018 theatrical release in Nigeria, ‘Lionheart’, which is Nnaji’s directorial debut, tells the story of a young woman, Adaeze Obiagu (Genevieve Nnaji), who becomes saddled with the responsibility of running her sick father’s business under the suffocating supervision of an uncle, played by Nkem Owoh.

Adaeze’s competing business instincts and family obligations become a catalyst for drastic change not everyone is ready to embrace.

Since the inauguration of the NOSC in 2014, this is the first time Nigeria is advancing a film to the Oscar, as previous entries received by the committee did not meet basic criteria.
Among the films received this year, the NOSC said it picked ‘Lionheart’ for its considerable shots at the rules.

The 12-man team boasts of notable Nigeria’s film industry stakeholders of international standing.

The team is Chaired by Chineze Anyaene, Producer and Director of ‘Ije’; Nollywood’s remarkable box office earner and foremost filmmaker and Chairman of Audio-Visual Rights Society (AVRS) of Nigeria, Mr. Mahmood Ali-Balogun as Vice Chairman.

Others include Bruce Ayonote, CEO of Legend Box Office; filmmaker and talent manager, Mildred Okwo; Journalist/Film Critic, Shaibu Husseini; filmmaker/author, Charles Novia; award-winning filmmaker, CJ Obasi; top actor Ramsey Nouah; versatile director and cinematographer, Adetokunbo ‘DJ Tee’ Odubawo; movie producer, Ngozi Okafor; AFRIFF Founder, Chioma Ude and director of Green-White-Green, Abba Makama.

According to Anyaene, entries received this year show significant improvements from the previous years.

“While we cannot say that what we have are the best that Nigeria is capable of producing, it is heart-lifting to know that, from the strength of the entries received this year, we are truly ready for the Oscars. Filmmakers are gradually taking the Oscar rules into consideration, and I have no doubt that it is going to be more competitive, going forward,” she said.

Every year, each country outside the United States is expected to submit one film as long as it’s not primarily in English. Films in pidgin, which must be subtitled like any other language film are also considered under this category.

Formerly called ‘Best Foreign Language Film’, 87 countries vied for the shortlisted slots last year, and from a final five Oscar nominations, ‘Roma’, a Mexican film directed by Alfonso CuarĂ³n picked the honour.

'Akpi' Independence 'Gulag Archipelago' @59 ~ Oluchi Ibe

Akpi is the Scorpion. You may then decipher the rest. However, Gulag is a labour camp, some sort of prison popular with the defunct Soviet Union.
Gulag Archipelago was a book written by a Soviet Noble Laurette of the '70s,  Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn. I do not only have a rare copy of this work of opposition but also it's sequel, The First Circle!

I remember a discussion I had with an old Professor and writer of excellence with over fifty books in his repertoire. Somehow Sozhenitsyn was mentioned and I told him I had his books. He laughed so hard in dismissal and then challenged me to go get the books. I did, same day. It took him time to recover. When he did, he offered mouth watering sum to buy the books off me. Of course yours sincerely.... When I got home and told Madam the tale she could not believe that I did not part with the books for the huge sum offered. Of course I slept in the couch.

But the true gist is this, the famed author described how the huge Soviet Union was nothing but a Gulag, a prison that perfected all types of human degradation. Yet despite every prison, every Gulag, the people's will was never broken. For Sozhenitsyn who spent over thirty years in various prisons across the Archipelago, every attempt to break his spirit failed.

What even piqued his jailers, the government, wasn't their inability to break him but that despite their TOTAL CONTROL, even prison wardens still subverted the government by providing pieces and scraps of papers for Sozhenitsyn to write. Reminds me of The Man Died, the prison notes of Wole Soyinka.

Nigeria at fifty nine and infact all through these fifty nine has been one huge Gulag Archipelago.
While our homes and the streets have become prisons, have always been, we seem to have forgotten the special popular prisons of the past, our Lubyankas. Lubyankas for these generation DSS men and women was the major Soviet Union Gulag.

This Nigerian Gulag has seen it all. It used to be kirikiri Maximum. For years, when it was the pride of the Nigerian governments, it never broke the spirit of the people to protest. There was the infamous Ikoyi elites prison and ofcourse the Ikoyi SS detention center. The entire Apapa military camps at a point where all gulags. Yet the people's will remained resolute.

There was also Saint Obasanjo's special Island prison - Itaoke, inhabited by prisoners , snakes and crocodiles. These perculiar animals, definitely not man's best friends, were the prison guards. But we survived.

This DSS and this diabolic Government now with Abuja as our new Gulag, be rest assured we will survive you. And like the old witch, the Soviet Union that met it's demise in glansnot and perestroika, and freed the inmates of it's Gulag, this FULANDIA will meet hers sooner that later and the gates of the Gulag will burst open... Independence!

The Nnamdi Kanu and Tony Nnadi DEMARCHE; The Need For An ENTENTE

What does Nnamdi Kanu want? What does Tony Nnadi want? What do their followers want? Anyone who follows the two will wonder at this simple question. But the question is necessary to situate this very discourse.

Both ofcourse want FREEDOM. Freedom from the chokehold of FULANDIA, i.e. Caliphate captive nation of Nigeria.

For Tony Nnadi, that freedom he seeks is not only for the entrapped area he identified as the Lower Niger that incorporates Biafra or former Eastern Nigeria but that also incorporates old Mid Western Nigeria.

This freedom he hopes to achieve through the collective actions of two other separate entities, Western Nigeria and Central Nigeria by isolating the twelve sharia states of Northern Nigeria.

For Nnamdi Kanu, the freedom he seeks is for the people of Biafra representing not only the old geopolitcal Biafra but an expanded Biafra that will contain chunks of the Middle Belt with affinity to Biafraland. Therefore and as stated earlier, both want Independence but with a few differences in geographical details.

The above seem where their sameness ended as from that point what confronts the onlooker is their sometimes often glaring difference and beligerence.

For Nnadi, this freedom task has taken over twenty years of behind the scene deep research and collection of relevant materials needed to argue the case for independence. It should be noted that as a forensic lawyer, Nnadi is very well equipped for this quest on research and academics including the legal fireworks needed to champion such a serious matter.

Kanu is not left behind in research and deep analysis either. He being a product of British education in Political Economics where he distinguished himself and equally saw and experienced first-hand   the source of the economic dependency and the colonization and subjugation of his people.

As a political agitator  Kanu was well equipped also to delve into the brand of the agitation he did and still doing.

While Nnadi has crisscrossed Nigeria and beyond agitating, discussing behind close doors with political, cultural and economic leaders on the need to shutdown the 1999 constitution which he sees as the latest instrument of en-shacklement, Kanu took his agitation into open galary and direct to the masses whom he believe are the direct victims and so stakeholders who must be emboldened to free themselves from Caliphate enslavement.

These two styles of agitation that naturally should not be mutually exclusive have been turned into a competition for leadership and of who's idea and strategy is the best for  the freedom quest.

Therefore, no matter what Kanu or Nnadi choose to say, the contest for he with the best idea and strategy including leadership of the struggle is real yet unnecessary.

In their quest, brickbats and vitriolic have been thrown back and forth to the consternation of onlookers and interested parties.

Given that there have been attempts at securing an understanding between the two in the past, it seems that their personal nature, - I find it had to use the word, ego, has been at play at what ordinarily would have been a most wonderful symbiotic relationship.

And so they embark on a DEMARCHE across the world soliciting attention and support for the necessarily needed international input into the struggle. Across the United States recently, both spent energy and resources appealing to US government officials and International agencies and also holding town hall meetings with stakeholders. Same with Europe where Kanu had a series of well advertised international engagements recently.

It does not take a fortune teller to inform anyone that a meeting of minds and an ENTENTE not necessarily the subjugation of one person or one idea to the other or one group to the other is urgently need right now. The path to freedom being seriously sought after by their traumatized people may lay within these two working together in some sort of arrangement. This dissipation of energy is not helping the cause at all.

In all live's issues, despite all the theorizing, forms and strategies, there is hardly one sure path to a goal. While a goal and in this case, Freedom, remains constant, the path to it's achievement cannot be one single road cast in cement or iron.

The revolutions we have seen in the Arab countries did not start with theorizing or even mass mobilization. One cart pusher set himself on fire and the rest as they say became history. So why these penchant that 'my way is the only unalterable way.' It is stupid thinking and for the sake of the struggle must be disregarded and replaced with a more open minded approach and brotherly accommodation as LONG AS THE GOAL REMAINS ONE - FREEDOM.

I know these men and have seen these two men at very close quarters and worked with them. Are they passionate about what they are doing? YES. Does Nnadi have a firm grip on the technicalities involved for the struggle? YES. Is what Nnadi doing capable of shooting down this country? YES. Does Nnamdi Kanu have what it takes to achieve freedom for our people? YES. Does Kanu have the people necessary and needed to accomplish this mandate? YES. If these two work in unison, the sky will be no limit.

But then, one understands human nature and even revolutions and revolutionaries better. Differences in opinions are sometimes hardly reconcilable. There has always been differences amongst revolutionaries in almost all History of revolutions. Maybe this is no difference but with the urgency inherent and the real time bound existential threat we face, a mending of fences becomes top priority.

Are there elders still remaining in the house. Can we seat these two warriors down for an ENTENTE and see our quest achieved within a more reasonable short timeframe?

Sincerely,

Oluchi Ibe

Tribunal Judgment: Atiku Speaks, Surrenders?

The People's Democratic Party's flag bearer in the 2019 presidential election Atiku Abubaka yesterday addressed Nigerians and more eclectically his supporters.

Read the full speech below.

"If I do not play my part in making it possible for other orphaned children, indigent youths and the less privileged, to replicate and even surpass my path to significance, I would have failed my Maker.

If I do not ensure that the ladder I climbed remains accessible to those at the bottom, middle and top tiers of society, I would not have fulfilled my purpose.

And only by ensuring that democracy is not just done, but seen to be done, can Nigeria and Nigerians have a sense that this our dear land is indeed a land where Unity, Faith, Peace.

It is for this, and other patriotic reasons, that I am pursuing this judicial route: To ensure that the votes of Nigerians count and are counted.

Yes, those who do not want this as Nigeria’s reality, will use every trick in the book to undermine, discourage, misinform and mislead, but with God’s help and the support of Nigerians, we will ensure that Nigeria makes a course correction away from tyranny and towards democracy.

We must return to being Africa’s bastion of democracy, where the rights to Freedom of Speech and Freedom after the Speech, are guaranteed.

We must stand together to pursue this just cause all the way, so that our judiciary are not afraid to do their jobs and have to be wary of blackmail, intimidation, and victimisation.

I note the immense outpouring of goodwill from ordinary Nigerians in every nook and cranny of Nigeria and from all regions, religions and relationships. Once again I thank you all for your support.

I also thank the governors elected on the platform of my party, the
@OfficialPDPNig
, as well as the National Executive Committee, for their unanimous and unambiguous support for the judicial phase of this struggle, especially after it was announced that we would go on to appeal.

I urge all Nigerians to continue their support for this recourse to constitutional order via the courts. Even if there is little or nothing you can do to ensure that justice is done in Nigeria, just believe that it will happen. Let us never underestimate the effect of our belief.

Finally, I say to all concerned, that we will all die and give account of our lives to our Creator.

Thank you and may God bless Nigeria".

26 Pupils, Two Teachers Killed Zin Liberia School Fire

A huge fire at a Liberian Koranic school killed at least 26 pupils and two teachers on Wednesday when flames engulfed their dormitory, in one of the worst disasters of its kind for the West African nation.
The boys were sleeping at the school when the overnight fire began, said police spokesman Moses Carter, adding that an electrical fault could have caused the blaze.

President George Weah visited the site in Paynesville, on the outskirts of the capital Monrovia, and said the cause was still unknown.

We are here to encourage parents of the victims to have strength because it is painful to lose your kids in this manner,” Weah told reporters at the scene.

The president’s office said 26 pupils between the ages of 10 and 20 died along with two teachers. The police spokesman said 27 students had been killed.

On Wednesday evening, the president of neighbouring Guinea, Alpha Conde, said several of his country’s nationals died in the blaze.

In a statement, he expressed “great emotion” over the deaths and gave his “deepest condolences to the Liberian people and the Guinean community in Liberia” adding that he was following the investigation closely.

“We extend our sympathy to the bereaved families. We don’t know the cause of the fire yet, but we will encourage our investigators to find how it happened,” he added.

Rescuers in white masks and surgical gloves carried the children’s bodies in bags from the burnt-out building as crowds of people and relatives pressed together outside.

“Our team is investigating the cause of the fire,” the police spokesman said. “It may be electrical,” he added while refusing to rule out the possibility that the fire was a criminal act.

The children were asleep
“I was sleeping when I heard a noise outside. My wife opened the back door and we saw smoke coming from the front. We came out and saw fire at the back,” said local resident Zazay Ballah, who said they had helped in the rescue efforts.

“We went for water, trying to put it out… When the firefighters came, the fire was already going down.”

The victims were buried swiftly in a collective ceremony, in the Muslim tradition.

In an earlier tweet, Weah offered condolences to the families of those affected.

“My prayers go out to the families of the children that died last night in Paynesville City as a result of a deadly fire that engulfed their school building,” he wrote.

“This is a tough time for the families of the victims and all of Liberia.”

The Liberian authorities are all too familiar with deadly fires, often caused by malfunctioning generators, though “not on this scale,” the presidential spokesman said.

The majority of Liberians are Christian but there is a sizeable minority of Muslims among the 4.5 million population.

Liberia is one of the least developed nations in the world, and its recent history has been blighted by civil wars and the deadly Ebola virus.

Take Urgent Action Against Abuse On Biafrans By Nigerian Government; Nnamdi Kanu Tells UN

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, yesterday at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, demanded urgent action against the alleged numerous rights abuses, allegedly inflicted on a daily basis on Biafrans; just as it sought the needed support for Biafra’s self-determination as enshrined in law, statute and various United Nations conventions.

Kanu also drew the attention of the United Nations, to the alleged incessant killing of Biafrans in their own land by terrorist Fulani herdsmen, alleged extortion and killing of Biafran motorcyclists and commercial drivers by Nigerian Army and Police over refusal to part with N50 bribery, killing of Biafrans in the Northern hemisphere by Islamic extremists. Citing some of the things that formed the basis for its agitation for the separate state of Biafra, which it said existed before Lord Lugard’s Amalgamation of 1914, Mazi Kanu, also disclosed the alleged disfranchising Biafrans in the Western and Northern part of Nigeria, illegal take-over of Biafrans’ property by Lagos State government, systematic oppression and economic emasculation of the Biafran.

He also included alleged “forceful Islamization of the country under the present administration, illegal detention of unarmed agitators, flagrant contempt of court orders, and incessant abduction and extrajudicial killings of its members and their families members, as also basis for its agitation.”

Other issues he raised to the United Nations were “the continued alleged illegal detention of Omoleye Sowore, the relentless persecution of the members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria led by Sheikh El-Zakzaky, alleged ongoing tragic ethnic cleansing in the Middle Belt and plight of Christian minorities in core North.” Mazi Kanu in his presentation to the United Nations, titled “Our case will no longer be ignored”, made available by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, also, raised the case of Rural Grazing Area, RUGA,by what it described as stealth, to the august body, insisted that Biafrans will never allow alleged Fulani terror settlements in any Biafraland.

Accompanying Mazi Kanu to the United Nations headquarters in Switzerland, where he had series of meeting with various UN agencies and officials, were IPOB deputy leaders, Mazi Uche Mefor, Head of Directorate of State of IPOB, Mazi Chika Edoziem, the Head of Finance, Lady Nnennaya Anya, and other top members of the group. Emerging from the meeting to address IPOB members and supporters from different countries of the world, who converged at Switzerland, Mazi Kanu assured them that “every issue concerning our people Biafrans, is now before the various arms and agencies of the United Nations and our case will no longer be ignored".

“We have successfully presented Biafra plight to the United Nations officials, demanding urgent action against the numerous rights abuses inflicted daily upon Biafrans and the need to support the inalienable and undeniable right of Biafrans to self-determination as enshrined in law, statute and various UN conventions. “The case of RUGA settlement by stealth was also raised and the august body was left in doubt that indigenous Biafrans will never allow Fulani terror settlements in Biafraland.“Every issue concerning our people is now before the various arms and agencies of the United Nations. Our case will no longer be ignored".

CITATION ON MARTIN CHINAGOROM OPARA

Life, as often said, is a stage and every being existing in life have roles to play while on this stage. The adventure of life is in such a way that we are formed by our choices, thoughts and actions. Such that we think what we desire, act what we think and become what we act.

The measure of ones existence is not in the days or years of his life but in the living of his life. Thus, this citation on Ikemba Martin Chinagorom Opara is a brief look into the many exploits of his existence.

Brave and vibrant Martin Chinagorom Opara is the 4th son and  6th child of late Nnadinma Linus Mmerenini and Florence Nkechinyere Opara of Obohia Logara, Ngor Okpala LGA. of Imo State. Martin attended Community School Logara as well as Logara High School at the early stages of his academics before proceeding to Alvan Ikoku College of Education (affiliated to the UNN) for a degree in Political Science. While at Alvan, Martin was an all rounder, very notable and reliable goal-getter both in academics, religious and political activities. He was a strong member of the Nigerian Federation of Catholic Students, NFCS where he served as Abuja Convention Planing Committee Chairman. He was also the Assistant Secretary Political Science Students Associations, POLSSA before his historic election as the Students' Union Government, (SUG) President of the prestigious institution.
While serving as the SUG President, Comrade Martin Opara challenged and changed the status quo in students politics and  performed excellently so well even far beyond the expectations of the students and management of Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education Owerri. During the reign of his presidency, he was again elected by his colleagues (SUG Presidents) in Imo State as Chairman, Joint Campus Committee, JCC of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS. At the end of his outstanding academic sojourn, he  finished strong at Alvan, making a second class, (upper division) from the affiliate institution - University of Nigeria Nsukka, UNN.

After his first degree, he proceeded to the Imo State University, IMSU Owerri for an M.Sc in Educational Management and Planning.

Presidential Tribunal Dismisses INEC’s Motion Against Atiku

Abuja – The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal sitting at the Court of Appeal, on Wednesday, has dismissed a preliminary objection by the Independent National Electoral Commission, seeking the striking out of the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, challenging the declaration of Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress as winner of the February 23, presidential election.
INEC’s motion dated May 15, was filed by its counsel, Yunus Usman SAN.
Specifically, INEC contended that the non-joining of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as a party in the petition rendered the case incompetent and therefore liable to be dismissed.
But in a lead judgment, Chairman of the 5-man PEPT, Justice Mohammed Garba held that the non-joinder of Osinbajo could not render the petition incompetent.
Justice Garba stated that the VP is only an interested party and not a necessary party because he was chosen by the 2nd respondent, President Buhari and the APC (3rd respondent) as a running mate.
In a unanimous ruling, the tribunal held that “the motion of the 1st respondent is not well-grounded in law, it lacks merit and is hereby refused".

Full Speech: Nnamdi Kanu Addresseses EU Parliamentarians

Nigeria in Crisis

There is a crisis in Nigeria. The Nigerian State has never been at peace with itself and recent events amplify this pending emergency.

And, as has been the case since independence from Britain in 1960, Biafrans are the easy target of the lack of a credible Nigerian state. Nigeria governs without the consent of all within its borders. Nigeria claims to be ruled by law, but in effect there is a de facto lawlessness in Nigeria.

Nigeria’s epidemic of violence flowing from the North is well documented. In 2014 the Global Terrorism Index judged Fulani militants to be the fourth most deadly terror group in the world, behind Boko Haram, Isis and the Taliban.

Lawlessness is always one step ahead of the Government. In response, the Government, when it is convenient for it to do so, attempts to give a veneer of legality to the lawlessness. Recent proposed land reforms across Nigeria do just that.

The Fulani herders from the North are increasingly encroaching on the settled farmers of the South/South East. This includes Biafra. As Amnesty International has reported, there were more than 2,000 deaths in 2018 linked to this land crisis. Instead of seeking to address the violence, the Government has sought to condone it and legitimise the land grab.

There is an underlying problem in the North which has to do with climate change and encroaching desertification due to overgrazing and deforestation. This has drawn Fulani herdsmen further south and led to violence against Biafran farmers seeking to defend their land and crops. The fertile farming lands of Biafra are very attractive to the Fulani.

To address this land crisis, the Government, the President of which is Fulani, sought to establish the RUGA scheme (an acronym for Rural Grazing Area – or is it, as some suggest, a Fulani word?) whereby Fulani herders could officially move into areas and absorb land as part of a Government co-ordinated programme across Nigeria.

Is this an attempt to develop settled land practices for the Fulani, or, as is the experience of Biafrans, is the drive behind RUGA an attempt to Fulanise (or Islamise) Biafraland and force out Biafrans? Biafrans who stand up to the Fulani are killed. Because of the uproar across Nigeria, the RUGA settlement programme has been suspended, but the National Livestock Transformation Plan (NLTP) remains in place. This programme advocates ranching. How different is it from RUGA? For Biafrans the effect is the same. They are forced from their land and will be killed if they do not make way for the Fulani.

Nigeria: The Problem, Not the Solution

Nigeria has always been a fiction. The state we now know as Nigeria was created for British administrative and colonial convenience in 1914. An audacious move by the British, but no surprises in Empire. Britain’s Nigeria drew together disparate people into one entity.

To over simplify, to the North are the Muslims. Two ethnic groups dominate the North, the Hausa and Fulani. The Fulani are now in the ascendency. One hundred years ago these were semi-nomadic, pastoral people. Many Fulani continue to live as herders. The South is mainly Christian and in the South East there is also a vibrant Jewish tradition. The rural communities in the South/South East tend to be settled farmers. The principal ethnic group in the South is the Yoruba.

The South East is the region that makes up Biafraland or Biafra. There is a coherence to Biafra. Its western border is the River Niger and it incorporates most of the Niger delta. The eastern border is Cameroon. To the west, across the Niger, are the Yoruba. In the north are the Muslim people. Despite colonisation and being forcibly absorbed into Nigeria, Biafrans are defined by common values and a shared sense of identity. Biafrans don’t all speak the same language. Many Biafrans are Igbo speakers. Other Biafrans speak Urhobo-Isoko, Ijaw-Epie-Ogbia, Ogoni, Efik, Annang, Eket-, Oron-Ibibio, Ogoja, Ejagham, Igala, Idoma, Ibani and Igbanke among others.

To put Biafra in its Nigerian geo-political context, Biafraland is made up of the following Provinces: Rivers Province, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Ebonyi, Imo, Anambra, Abia, Enugu, Bayelsa and Delta. Fulani herdsman have shown great interest in those provinces that form the central belt of Biafra, such as Enugu.

The Biafran War (1967-1970)

With independence, the persecution of Biafrans started. One colonial master was replaced by another, although, and without endorsing British rule, Biafrans fared better under the British than they have under Nigerian dominance.

First, the Biafrans who had been transplanted to the North by the British were massacred. Those that survived fled back to Biafra. The oppression and intimidation did not cease. In 1967, Biafra was left with no choice but to proclaim independence. Nigeria declared war.

Biafra didn’t stand a chance. The conflict turned the Cold War on its head. The Soviet Union and Britain actively supported Nigeria. “Biafra, Britain’s Shame” was how many described the UK position. French compassion was gratefully received but it could do little to protect the fledgling state. America’s neutrality in effect backed Nigeria. China was silent. The UN was hopeless. Biafra was doomed. Starved into submission, after three years the Biafrans surrendered. At least 2 million Biafrans perished.

The atrocities, war crimes and crimes against humanity committed against Biafra during the Biafran War remain unaccounted for. Was it an attempt at genocide? Biafrans were considered an existential threat to the state. The killings were indiscriminate. All Biafrans.

After the war, Biafrans slowly rebuilt their world. But, as far as Nigeria was concerned, they were not and never had been Biafrans. They were Nigerians from the South East or Igbo-speaking Nigerians. The Biafran War was airbrushed out of the Nigerian consciousness. Biafrans could only whisper about their loss. Joining the global Biafran diaspora was one option for those who could get out. Others remained in Biafraland, their Biafran identity amongst themselves, undiminished.

Nigeria continues to prioritise crushing assertions of Biafran identity. Even peacefully commemorating the War risks arrest, detention, prohibited ill-treatment or being shot.

In recent years the Nigerian state authorities have conducted three orchestrated campaigns against Biafrans. The three Operation Python Dance campaigns have been battles against Biafrans. The first campaign was in 2016, the second in 2017 and the third is ongoing. They are designed to undermine calls for Biafran self-determination. Operation Python Dance campaigns intimidate. Serious and systemic human rights violations are carried out by state forces with impunity.

A Voice for Biafrans: The Indigenous People of Biafra

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is the main organisation which represents all peoples who consider themselves to be Biafran. IPOB has one principal purpose, IPOB calls for the recognition of the Biafran people’s right to self-determination. IPOB pursues the right to self-determination for Biafrans without the use of force. IPOB upholds human rights. IPOB rejects violence.

The Nigerian authorities target organisations calling for Biafran self-determination, most notably IPOB. Being found with IPOB symbols can result in an individual being disappeared. Arrest is inevitable. And now that IPOB has been proscribed, prison sentences are harsh.

The IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, has been targeted, harassed and persecuted by the authorities. He has been unlawfully detained, subjected to prohibited ill-treatment and unfair trials. It is a miracle that he’s alive. Following an attack on his home, he was forced into involuntary exile. Many of those defending him were killed or disappeared. There is still a warrant out for his arrest.

Biafrans, supported by IPOB, respond cannily to these targeted attacks organising stay-at-home days each 30th May, the day Biafra declared independence in 1967. No one in Biafraland goes to work that day and the economy, along with everything else, grinds to a halt. As Nigeria denies the human rights of Biafrans, the Biafrans become more skilled in honing those rights. IPOB remains committed to non- violent campaigning.

A Right to Self-Determination for Biafra

International law is clear in relation to self-determination. Where there is a credible claim for self- determination the only way to resolve the issue is by holding a referendum which complies with international standards. IPOB is calling for a referendum. It is for that reason the Nigerian authorities have sought to brand IPOB as a terrorist organisation. The EU, the UK and the US have all rejected the labelling of IPOB as a terrorist group. They know that IPOB seeks only to uphold human rights.

It is not only the direct attacks on Biafrans by the Nigerian state that perpetuate the intimidation and torment of Biafrans. Nigeria’s policies of accommodating Northerners have a direct impact on Biafrans. No different to 1967, Northerners act with impunity in Biafraland.

The current land crisis in Biafra caused by Fulani herders is just one more chapter of brutality facing the Biafran people carried out with the tacit support of the Nigerian state. Despite the apparent suspension of RUGA, Northerners continue to threaten Southerners, including Biafrans. They will have no peace if Fulanis are not allowed to establish the RUGA scheme, the Fulani say.

This land crisis throws into sharp relief Nigeria’s crisis. The Government of Nigeria is, to all intents and purposes, giving land to Fulani herders from the North which belongs to Biafran farmers. These are the same Biafrans who legitimately claim their right to self-determination.

Biafran farmers live in fear. The farmers of Ebonyi and Enugu are particularly affected. This torment must end. Biafra is entitled to resolve its own future and security.

Why Self-Determination Matters

IPOB has always called for creative solutions to recognise Biafrans’ right to self-determination. However, what is clear is that the existing model of the Nigerian constitution is fatally flawed. It continues to cause harm to all within the jurisdiction and it is unsustainable.

Nigeria may once have worked for the British as a colonial administration. It has never worked as an independent state. To this extent it is a failed state. Nigeria is an artificial vehicle which buttresses those with power, or aspirations for power. As there is no legitimacy to the state of Nigeria, there is no rule of law. Law is used as a tool of coercion by the authorities to crush opposition. Others, such as the Fulani herders, simply ignore the law and act with impunity.

Biafra: Africa’s Future

Biafran pleas for self-determination are ignored by the international community. Why are Biafran voices not heard? Resolving Biafra’s legitimate claim for self-determination will resolve Nigeria’s crisis. Biafra is a forgotten global crisis. IPOB believes that by resolving Biafra’s right to self-determination, Africa’s peaceful future will be revealed. To that extent, Biafra is Africa’s future. The effects of Nigeria’s permanent state of conflict resonate across the continent.

Trump Fires John Bolton As National Security Adviser

By Shannon Pettypiece, Carol E. Lee, Peter Alexander and Adam Edelman

WASHINGTON - President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he had fired national security adviser John Bolton after a string of disagreements, removing one of the most hawkish voices in Trump's inner circle on a number of issues, including Taliban negotiations and China trade talks.

Trump announced on Twitter that he had asked for Bolton's resignation on Monday night, saying he had "disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions".

“I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House. I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning,” Trump said on Twitter.

White House spokesman Hogan Gidley said that Trump had asked for Bolton's resignation on Monday night, and that it was delivered on Tuesday. White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said Trump and Bolton had not spoken on Tuesday.

Bolton himself said in a tweet that he had offered to resign Monday night, and that the president had said in response that they would "talk about it tomorrow".

“I offered to resign last night," Bolton told NBC News via text. "He never asked for it, directly or indirectly. I slept on it, and resigned this morning.” He denied reports that he and Trump had gotten into a heated argument Monday night over the president’s plan to host Taliban leaders at Camp David.

Some National Security Council officials were caught off guard by Bolton’s firing, learning about it only when it flashed on TV screens.

Reports over the weekend that Bolton and Vice President Mike Pence disagreed with Trump's Camp David plan were the last straw for Bolton, according to two people familiar with the matter. On Monday, Pence tweeted that the stories were fake but Bolton did not — and that, according to the officials, upset Trump.

One person familiar with the breakdown between the two men said Trump didn’t want Bolton attending the U.N. General Assembly in New York with him later this month.

Asked if the disagreement over the Taliban talks led to Bolton’s dismissal, Grisham said “that there was no final straw".

"There were several issues," he said. "They had policy disagreements".

But speaking on the condition of anonymity, one official said Afghanistan “broke open the bottom of the bag” in a relationship that had been eroding. Another official confirmed that sharp disagreement over the Afghanistan deal was the final issue that ruptured the relationship.

Bolton, known as a fierce infighter, had few loyal allies internally. He had clashed with many senior members of the administration at times, including Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

But he could also build alliances when needed. He worked closely with Pence on multiple issues, including efforts to replace Venezuelan leader NicolĂ¡s Maduro, and aligned with Pompeo on encouraging a hard-line stance on China, said a former administration official.

He was one of the loudest hawks inside the West Wing, perpetually skeptical of the country's adversaries and unafraid of the prospect of military conflict. Few others in the upper ranks of the administration were as deeply versed in the nuances of foreign policy, a void that Pompeo will now have an outsize role in filling — particularly when it comes to Iran, China and Venezuela, said the former official.

Most recently, the two had sparred over Trump's desire to have leaders of the Taliban visit Camp David in the days before the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks to finalize peace talks. The idea was strongly opposed by Bolton, even as officials at the State Department argued it could move the parties closer to an agreement, officials said.

Bolton had been deeply skeptical of negotiations with the Taliban. U.S. negotiators have been working under the president’s demand that a drawdown occur before November 2020, when he’s up for re-election.

Asked if he had been startled by Bolton's quick exit, Pompeo told reporters he had not. "I'm never surprised. And I don’t mean that on just this issue," he said.

Bolton’s departure could pave the way for a more flexible approach by the Trump administration on North Korea, Iran, Venezuela and Afghanistan, former U.S. officials and two current U.S. officials said.

Bolton had pushed Trump to take a harder line on other regimes he has deemed untrustworthy. Trump, on the other hand, campaigned on the promise to get the U.S. out of conflicts.

While Bolton had previously pushed for striking Iran in an effort at regime change, Trump has indicated he would like to sit down with Iranian officials, and that regime change is off the table; Pompeo confirmed Tuesday that the president is likely to speak with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani when the U.N. General Assembly meets in New York. "The president has made it very clear, he’s prepared to meet with no preconditions," said Pompeo.

Some officials in the administration had also grown frustrated with Bolton’s stance on Venezuela, in which he pushed for the imposition of harsh sanctions on the Maduro regime and opposed renewing a waiver to allow the energy company Chevron to keep operating in the country.

When asked earlier about his differences with Bolton, Trump indicated he didn't have a problem with his national security adviser giving an opinion that diverged from his own.

"I have some hawks," the president said in a "Meet the Press" interview this summer. "Yeah, John Bolton is absolutely a hawk. If it was up to him he'd take on the whole world at one time, OK? But that doesn't matter, because I want both sides".

Bolton has had his fair share of detractors in Congress. Many of those critics praised his departure — with even some who held a favorable view of him said the change could be a positive one.

“I like John Bolton, I think he sees the world for what it is. I've always had a similar view of threats that we face,” said Graham, R-S.C. “But the personal relationship between the president and national security adviser is important. I think the view that there’s some public discussions about Bolton being on the other side of meeting with the Taliban probably was a bridge too far".

But Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, said Bolton’s departure was a “huge loss” for the country.

"His view was not always the same as everybody else in the room, that’s why you wanted him there,” Romney told reporters. “The fact that he was a contrarian from time to time is an asset, not a liability".

This is the third national security adviser that Trump will have to replace. His first, Michael Flynn, was in court for a status hearing on Tuesday before his sentencing for lying to U.S. officials. Flynn's successor, Army Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster, said he was retiring after repeated disagreements with Trump.

It is unclear what will now happen with the team of foreign policy experts Bolton had built over more than a year — a state of affairs adding yet more instability to the national security ranks under Trump's presidency.

Trump named Bolton, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and undersecretary of state for international security, to the post in a tweet in March 2018. At the time of his appointment, Bolton said in a Fox News interview that he was taken off guard.

Trump said Tuesday that he would name a new national security adviser next week. Gidley said Tuesday afternoon that deputy national security adviser Charlie Kupperman would replace Bolton as the acting national security adviser.

Among those being considered as Bolton's permanent replacement, Sen. Lindsey Graham said on Fox News Thursday, are Ricky Waddell, a former deputy national security adviser who is currently assistant to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; Brian Hook, a seasoned diplomat who is now the State Department’s point person on Iran; and Keith Kellogg, the national security adviser to the vice president.

"Those are three names the president mentioned to me," Graham said. "There are others on the list, but what are we looking for? Somebody that can work with Pompeo, work with the Department of Defense to get the inner agency back — stood back up".

Hours before Trump announced his departure, Bolton sent a final public warning on Iran.

"Now that we're two weeks from #UNGA, you can be sure Iran is working overtime on deception," Bolton wrote in a tweet. "Let's review the greatest hits, starting with the most recent. Iran denied the Adrian Darya-1 was headed to Syria, then confirmed today its oil was offloaded there.

Iranian Weapon warehouse Explodes Mysteriously In Western Iraq – Casualties reported.

A huge explosion was heard in an Iranian weapon warehouse in Anbar province, in western Iraq.

According to Arab reports, the site, which belongs to an Iranian-backed terror group, was attacked by a UAV.

Anbar is located in the so-called Iranian corridor that leads to Syria via al-Bukamal, which was bombed yesterday.

Israeli fighter jets allegedly targeted overnight Sunday a missile depot belonging to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards terror group near al-Bukamal, on Syria’s border with Iraq.

According to Arab reports, the strikes targeted a base belonging to the Iranian-backed Popular Mobilization Force and Hezbollah.

The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says at least 21 pro-Iranian terrorists were killed in the airstrikes.

A Syrian official claimed Israel struck base in al-Bukamal, using Jordanian airspace and US forces in Tanf.

New satellite images show the destruction in the Iranian base in al-Bukamal.

The IDF raised its state of alert along Israel’s northern border, in anticipation of an expected retaliatory attack by Iranian proxies.

Iranian-linked terrorists launched several rockets from Syria toward Israel overnight, but they fell short and failed to reach their targets, the IDF reported Monday morning.

Imo Gov, Ihedioha Orders Arrest Of Rochas Okorocha

Imo State Government under the leadership of Emeka Ihedioha on Thursday ordered a citizen’s arrest against Sen. Rochas Okorocha, over alleged assault on a government official, Mr Jasper Ndubuaku.

The Secretary to State Government (SSG), Mr Uche Onyeaguocha, gave the order after the Chairman of the Recovery of Government Properties, Mr Jasper Ndubuaku, was allegedly assaulted at Okorocha’s residence.

Onyeaguocha said that the state had also placed Okorocha on security watch and urged Imo citizens to arrest him and alert the government whenever they found him in the state.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a video, trending online on Thursday, captured some thugs beating Ndubuaku at Okorocha’s residence on Spibatt Avenue, Owerri.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Rabiu Ladodo, and SSG confirmed the incident to newsmen at a joint news briefing in Owerri.

They announced that a citizen’s arrest had been declared on Okorocha over the incident.

They claimed that Okorocha hired thugs to attack Ndubuaku, who doubles as Special Adviser to Gov. Emeka Ihedioha on Security matters.

They said that the Senator representing Imo West would be arrested and prosecuted anytime he entered the state.

Narrating his ordeal to NAN, Ndubuaku alleged that he was beaten at Okorocha’s residence and thrown into a gutter by some thugs.

He further alleged that he was first held hostage for some hours by the thugs in the presence of security men attached to Okorocha’s residence.

He said that the recovery team obtained a court order to search Okorocha’s house.

“We got a court order to recover stolen properties kept in Okorocha’s house and when we got to his house on Thursday, armed thugs attacked us.

"There are twenty government vehicles in his house, four Speed Boats, one movable crane and generator sets, which we went to recover before the incident.

“We will not give up the battle, we will go back to his house because the property belongs to Imo government,” Ndubuaku said.

Reacting to the government’s order, Mr Sam Onwuemeodo, the Special Assistant on Media to Okorocha, said the recovery committee was attacked by the former governor’s sympathisers and passersby.

He said that the recovery team went to Okorocha’s house without a court order, adding that they invaded Okorocha’s residence with no fewer than 50 thugs.

Study: Women Store DNA From Every Man They’ve Ever Made Love With

Study: Women Store DNA From Every Man They’ve Ever Made Love With
Women "harvest" every male's DNA, according to a new study.

By Daisy Magnum May 3, 2018May 31, 2018
Women retain and carry living DNA from every man with whom they have sexual intercourse.

This bombshell discovery has been unearthed during a brand-new study by the University of Seattle and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.

The scientific study actually discovered the shocking information by accident.

Scientists were initially attempting to identify whether ladies who were pregnant with a son are more susceptible to specific neurological illnesses that take place more regularly in males.

But as the scientists picked apart the female brain, the research study began to drift hugely off course.

Women harvest DNA
What they actually found, however, is that the female brain is far more complex than we previously believed.

The research study found that female brains typically harvest “male microchimerism".

Or, to put it simply; they found the existence of male DNA that stemmed from other individuals.

These cells are genetically unique from those that make up the “host” female.
According to the research, the study reports:

“63% of the females (37 of 59) tested harbored male microchimerism in the brain.

“Male microchimerism was present in multiple brain regions".

So 63% of women carry male DNA cells that live in their brains.

Clearly, the scientists wanted to know where the male DNA originated from.

What are they so afraid of?
“CONCLUSIONS: Male microchimerism was not irregular in females without sons.

“Besides known pregnancies, other possible sources of male microchimerism include unrecognized spontaneous abortion, disappeared male twin, an older sibling transferred by the maternal blood circulation, or SEXUAL INTERCOURSE.

“Male microchimerism was substantially more frequent and levels were greater in ladies with induced abortion than in women with other pregnancy histories.

“More research studies are needed to figure out specific origins of male microchimerism in women".

So according to the scientists, the possible sources of the male DNA cells residing in the women’s brains are:

1: an abortion the female was unaware of
2: a male twin that disappeared
3: an older sibling transferred by the maternal flow
4: sexual intercourse

Thinking about the reality that 63% of women have male DNA cells living in the recesses of their brain, which of the above possibilities do you think is the most likely origin of the male DNA?

The first 3 alternatives use a very little portion of ladies.

They could not potentially represent the 63% figure. The fourth choice? It’s rather more typical.

The answer is 4. Sex.

This has crucial ramifications for females.
DNA stays with women for life
Every male you absorb spermatazoa from becomes a living part of you for life.

The women autopsied in this research study were elderly.
Some had been carrying the living male DNA inside them for well over 50 years.

Sperm is alive.
It is living cells. When it is injected into you it swims and swims until it crashes headlong into a wall, and then it attaches and burrows into your flesh.

If it’s in your mouth it swims and climbs into your nasal passages, inner ear, and behind your eyes.

Then it digs in. It enters your bloodstream and collects in your brain and spine.
Like something out of a sci-fi movie, it becomes a part of you and you cannot eliminate it.

We are only now beginning to understand the full power and implications of sexual intercourse.

Former Satanic High Priest Says Christian Prayers Hindered Him From Carrying Out Evil

John Ramirez once worshipped the devil and carried out evil in the name of Satan.
Now a pastor, he knows all about the dark side.

He once sacrificed animals as part of satanic rituals, and his friends even called him "Lucifer's son".

In his book Armed and Dangerous: The Ultimate Battle Plan for Targeting and Defeating the Enemy, Ramirez details why Christians need to pray more effectively.

"I wrote this book because I wanted Christians to know that [there's] not only a defense spiritual warfare, but there's an offense spiritual warfare," he told CBN News. "We need to keep the devil, the devil in his place".

Ramirez said he was most effective in Satanism when believers were prayerless.

"I was able to go in there and capitalize and take a stand and a position in the spirit realm against the Christians who were not praying," he explained. "I took that territory away so I owned your neighbor; I owned your neighborhood; I owned your region because you didn't saturate with prayers. I beat you to it".

He also shared how when Christians did pray that it stopped his evil plans in their tracks.

"It is those believers, it's that group of people, those intercessors who gave me such a beatdown in the spiritual," he said. "When I came into the neighborhood and they were in the spirit together holding hands. Do I know they were physically holding hands in one area? I don't know, but in the spirit realm, they were holding hands. And, they were able to chase me out the neighborhood. No mission accomplished. Mission aborted, weakened my assignment and no mission accomplished because they knew something: They had the power in that neighborhood that I didn't have".

Ramirez now encourages Christians to broaden their prayers and to be sensitive to pray for the nation, schools and other areas.

He said, "If I know what's going on in my neighborhood, then I know what to lift up to the altar of God. And I think a lot of times we miss it because we have been called to be intercessors between life and death. We need to intercede for our neighborhood, our region, then our family, our loved ones, our husbands, wives, our workplaces."

After serving the devil for most of his life, he says that he wouldn't trade anything for what he's found in Christ.

"For 25 years of my life, I was able to do anything to anybody, anywhere," said Ramirez. "I count that all to be foolish to gain Christ. He's my Uno. He's the breath that I breathe. He walks with me. I can hear the sound of His voice in my ear".
